As if no one supports you? No one believes in you? No one stands with you?

Jesus did. Even His family, His own brothers who He grew up with, were not behind Him. He had to stand alone.

It is not easy, being the one to stand, but stand we must. It is an act of faith and obedience. God is looking for the one willing to stand, even if alone. The one willing to be the first, even if the only. Is that you?

It is not pleasant, it is even scary. It is a difficult road indeed to stand when everyone else is against you. When you have no one to confide in, no one to share your heart with. Life can seem too much. But, you do have a friend.

Jesus stood alone. He knows how hard it is, how frustrating, how lonely.

Wait… Jesus lonely? He had crowds everywhere He went! Yes… crowds, but no friend. No one who understood Him and His mission. He had no one to confide in except God the Father. Perhaps that’s another reason He spent so much time alone, in prayer. His heavenly Father was the only one who was there for Him. He was alone. People flocked to Him for their own selfish reasons, not to help Jesus. Not to support Him, but for what they could get from Him. And in the end, they all turned away. Even Peter.

So what do you do when you are alone? Lean on Jesus! Not only does He understand, but He succeeded! He stood alone and won the battle! He never gave in, never gave up. And He wants to stand with you, now. You do have a friend!

Young David stood alone against Goliath. The entire Israeli army was scared, too scared to move. But David stood up, and stood alone. And through God’s grace and 5 little stones, he won. That’s what Jesus wants for you, He will stand with you.

But how?

Two steps:

First, make sure you are on the right path. Pray earnestly for direction, for wisdom, for insight. Pray for every wrong door to be closed no matter what. Pray for the right door to be opened. Seek wisdom in the word, seek wisdom by being alone with Jesus. Stop sleeping much and use that time alone in quiet prayer as Jesus did. Make sure you are standing in the right.

Then, stand while leaning on Jesus. Pray without ceasing. Stay in a humble attitude, knowing that YOU can not do this. It is not about self-esteem, not about self-motivation, not about your willpower, your training, your strength. It’s not about you at all. It is about Him! Every minute keep your eyes and thoughts on Jesus. He can do anything, you just need to obey. Move forward knowing through faith that He will never leave you. Stay in prayer, always, 24×7.

Jesus is the answer. The problem is nothing. Forget the problem, and honor the problem solver with your time, your heart, and your obedience.

Then, He will give you the strength to stand, even if alone.
